Contact Angle Measurement Systemis a tool to study the wetting behaviour of a liquid on Solid. Phenomenon like spreadability, absorption, adsorption, dissolution can be studied by contact angle measurement devices. Different methods are used for measurement which are classified as follows:

Sessile Drop Method:The optical contact angle method is used to determine wetting properties of a localized region on a solid surface.

Dynamic Whilmey Method:A method for calculating average advancing and receding angles on solid of uniform geometry.

Single Fiber Wilhelmy Method:Dynamic Wilhelmy method applied to single fibers to measure advancing and receding contact angles.

Powder Contact Angle method:Enables measurement of average contact angle sorption speed for powders and other porous materials. Change of weight as a function of time is measured.

Top View Distance Method:Measurement of the contact angle from the top using mirror image of light spot which are reflected by the curved surface of the drop.

The measurment of contact angle on concave surfaces is a challange, the Top View AnalyzerTVA100 measures the contact angle from the top using the distance between spots of light reflected from the curved drop surface. This technique allows nondestructive measurements on concave surfaces or surfaces in recesses in which a measurement of the shadow image with the illumination, sample and optics in a single plane is ruled out.
